Art and a Fear of Ridicule

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 20, 2009, 8:27 AM

A SMALL LITTLE FEATURE

I am not a bad artist, I think I've become at least skilled enough to say this. I find that often times artists are most cruel to their own works, and when they arent they usually aren't very good (or their very pigheaded). Of course this doesnt count for everyone, this is a very general assumption.

My point is that many have pointed out that I draw a lot. Almost constantly, and yet I dont even have two full pages of deviations. I submit maby one deviation every few months when I draw at least three things every day. Sure I only draw something truly noteworthy every other day but my point still stands.

But you see my own personal fears and wishes seem to be in constant contradiction. I fear ridecule the most. I'm always afraid that one day I'm gonna show a drawing that I personally thought was pretty good to someone and have that person say "God this is such crap, stop showing me your useless drawings!" Even so I thrive on people's opinions of my art. I love nothing more than when I can show a picture to someone and have them give me an honest opinion on what they like and what can be improved.

I know my fears have no ground, again I say that I'm not a bad artist. And I know that even if I do eventually get any notice on DA and get a few hate comments that those people have no lives and live for the sole sake of being a thorn in everyones artistic side.

Maybe tonight I'll finally get over myself and post some things. I've begun to think, which is a dangerous things. As one of my favorite writers once said: "A teetotal Irishman (or in my case Irishwoman) is a dangerous thing. He may begin to think. Then he may

Ohh I have a question D: Relating to psych.. XD What are the two sleep stages necessary..? I know REM is one, but I dont know the other.. D:
:iconmastersanosa:
Isnt it stage 4 sleep? He said that stage 4 sleep is the deepest stage of sleep and is necessary for helping the body recover I think. I could be wrong though.
